Tuesday brought a new … dimension to my life again. Since we have formed Much Needed Vacations, we have been networking, emailing, blogging, booking trips, texting, tweeting, posting, calling, meeting, eventing (if this is a word), and traveling. I have felt overwhelmed at times and yet each and every week I knew this was necessary. Yet, with all these activities, there was an underlying sense that something was missing. And then this past Tuesday, it all felt balanced again.
This is … Martin Alvarez, Yvonne Stroud, Annette Gaddis, and myself helping with an evening meal at Judi’s House, a Denver-based company that provides bereavement support for grieving children and teens. Martin is the CEO of the online magazine The Modern Gladiator and Annette and I are the travel writers for the magazine. Martin has a philosophy that is alligned with ours: to give back. The Modern Gladiator is donating the food and time to give an evening meal to Judi’s House each quarter of the year.
Here is the evening meal … that was purchased and prepared by Martin and Yvonne of the Modern Gladiator team. Annette and I came in on Tuesday to help set up, serve, and clean up. We were given a tour of this wonderful home in Denver. I was really moved by what it means to be even a small part of such a worthwhile non-profit. This made me feel a balance in my life again and I am so glad we are going to be helping and supporting this organization in Colorado.
